President Kirchner heads to Rome

Argentina will be represented at the enthronement of Pope Francis by a delegation led by President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, and composed of representatives of Parliament, the Church, the Justice and the trade unions.

Secretary of Public Communications Minister, Alfredo Scoccimarro, explained on Thursday that, along with the president, traveling will be predictably Foreign Minister, Héctor Timerman, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Julián Domínguez, and the President of the Supreme Court Justice Ricardo Lorenzetti.

The Church of the South American country, will be represented by the Head of the Episcopal Conference of Argentina, Monsignor Jose Maria Arancedo, and the Social Pastoral Agency, Carlos Alberto Acaputo.

The delegation is completed with union leaders Antonio Caló, Omar Viviani and Omar Suarez and the deputy head of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) Ricardo Alfonsin, reported the official news agency Telam.

The enthronement of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as the new Pope will be held on Tuesday, March 19.
